Fernco Large Coupling with Bush

Objective:
Provide a quick, cost effective and easy solution for temporarily connecting DN750 Concrete to DN750 Twinwall to re-route drainage while works take place on the main line.

Solution:
Fernco Large Couplings (LC) and Bushes

Upgrades were required for a main sewerage line at Rotherham’s Bolton Upon Dearne Waste water Treatment
Works.
CPC Civils were contracted to carry out the job, which included temporarily re-routing the sewage materials whilst the upgrades took place on the main line.

The main line is DN750 Concrete and the re-routing pipe material was DN750 Twinwall. The contractor needed a connection solution which accounted for the differences in outside diameter between the pipes, had good deflection capabilities and had the ability to quickly connect/disconnect to allow the job to be completed as quickly as possible.

The solution Fernco supplied was a DN750 Large Coupling (LC) with an EPDM rubber Bush. The Bush was supplied to bring the outside diameter of the Twinwall pipe to the same as the Concrete pipe, allowing the LC to create a watertight connection between the two pipes.

Fernco manufactured the Large Couplings and the Bushes to the exact sizes needed for the job within the day of the order and shipped the whole order for a next day delivery. This allowed the re-route to be completed the following morning.
