Fernco, located in Barnsley, is seeking an IT Administrator to join our Company, working 39 hours per week: 08.30 – 17.00 (Mon-Thurs) & 08.30 – 16.00 (Fri). The successful individual will work as part of our IT team, providing technical support and troubleshooting for all IT issues, including hardware, software, network, and security for a user base of 80+. Reporting to the Head of Technology, the role also involves managing and supporting the entire IT estate alongside our 3rd Party IT Suppliers.

This role is ideal for someone with a good level of experience now looking to grow their skills and take on more direct responsibility.

This role will give you the opportunity to take full ownership of the management and maintenance of IT Solutions and Projects for the whole business and help us deliver some ambitious plans for 2024 and onwards. You will be the first point of contact for IT support, playing a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and cyber security of our technology infrastructure alongside our existing Managed Service Providers.

IT Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the primary liaison for the support of all IT Infrastructure and Software, alongside our MSP
  • Management and administration of our internal IT Helpdesk Ticket Management Application (FreshService)
  • Day to day Management of 3rd Party IT Suppliers & Contracts
  • Procurement of IT Hardware, Software & Licensing
  • Management of Internal Phone System
  • Management of Cyber Security Applications & Policies
  • Some international travel may be required

The Ideal IT Administrator:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in IT Support (at least 2+ years)
  • Experience in administering and managing Microsoft 365 user accounts, licences, and security settings
  • Experience managing & supporting windows servers in virtualised environments
  • Understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Excellent desktop support skills with the ability to assist end-users effectively
  • Full driving licence & access to own transport as travel between 2 sites will be required.

Desirable:

  • Experienced in administering Azure Servers (future migration plan)
  • Hands-on experience of administering and supporting SharePoint
  • Any Formal IT Qualifications – specifically in the areas above
