Objective:
To control the flow of water across two sites to stop water entering a commercial premises and a retention pond.

Solution:
Use a Fernco Penstock to manually control the flow of water into the two areas.

The Fernco Penstock was successfully deployed at two prominent locations in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, supplied by O’Brien’s Plumbing & Bathrooms. A total of three penstocks were seamlessly integrated into the stormwater systems of two commercial sites. One of these sites specifically required the penstock to serve as a safeguard against potential spills within the commercial yard, ensuring that no contaminants would enter the stormwater retention ponds. The second installation took place in a vacant lot, awaiting the construction of a commercial premises. The penstock in this location effectively regulated the flow into the retention pond, ensuring optimal water management.

To facilitate their installation, the penstocks were fitted into sturdy concrete manholes. Operating effortlessly with the aid of wheels, these penstocks were also equipped with scruffy domes at the top, enhancing their tamper resistance.

The contractor responsible for the installation was Turfey, and they expressed high praise for the Fernco Penstocks. They found the entire installation process to be
exceptionally straightforward and the penstocks themselves easy to operate. The contractor expressed great satisfaction with the product, stating a strong willingness to utilize Fernco Penstocks for future projects without hesitation.
